Something a lot of people don’t know about aging out is the grief of losing so many friends to statistics. Those aren’t just statistics; They are people. They are my people. I have friends who’ve been trafficked and went back. I have friends who are still alive, but who are deep into their drug addictions. I have so many friends raising children without the dad, or who struggled so much their children ended up in foster care as well. I have friends who want to go to college, but don’t have the resources or support system to make it. I have friends who carry around church hurt from being placed in abusive “Christian” foster homes.I pray for them, and I hope you do as well.
