When I was in foster care and even before I went in, art was what helped me. It gave me a healthy outlet for my anxiety and struggles. So many people told me I should be in art classes, but I wasn’t given that opportunity. There are so many kids in foster care who aren’t given the opportunities to be poured into or are able to explore their hobbies.
 
When every day is a struggle to survive, there isn’t room for much else.
