One thing I wish people knew was that it’s hard going into foster care, but you will find your people. Foster care can rob you of your childhood. Never judge people based off of how they act, they have a reason to act that way.
 
I grew up in a home where my parents didn’t love me, and I was abused by everybody. I grew up not feeling emotions. I was 17 when I went into foster care, but no one cared for me because of my age. But when I met my new family, I started feeling emotions I had never felt before.
 
I met Unfaulted when I was 19. They helped me make friends and new connections. Now, I can try to give back to the foster care system – the teenagers that no one cares about. Unfaulted helped me reach out to peers my age and help each other through things.
 
Right now, I’m working to get my psychology degree so that I can be a therapist for other foster kids. My hope is to help teenagers heal from their trauma and live the life they deserve.
