I was in foster care from 14 years old until I aged out at 21, then I found Unfaulted. At the time, I was in an abusive relationship, had a three-month-old daughter, and I was in school but didn’t have a job or place of my own. I was stuck.
A couple who volunteers with Unfaulted provided me with a garage apartment for about six months, so I could get on my feet. It was long enough to come up with a plan and find a good daycare for my daughter, as well as a job and an apartment in a good area.
Unfaulted helped me see my worth and learn how to value myself and look at my interests, as well as my daughter’s. They are teaching me how to use available resources to GROW and develop as a person and as a mom.
I am becoming better spiritually, mentally, and emotionally. Right now, I’m in real estate school and finishing my college degree. My daughter is two. I’m thankful for Unfaulted and the people who truly want to help others, like me.
